Early Career Teacher Development
The early years of teaching are among the most formative — and the most demanding. Early career teachers are navigating complex classrooms, new professional relationships, and the constant pressure to perform, often without the reflective tools they need to make sense of what is happening and why.
As a Certified Cognitive Coach, I work with early career teachers using a metacognitive framework specifically designed to develop the thinking habits that underpin effective, sustainable teaching practice. This is not mentoring in the traditional sense — it is structured, evidence-based coaching that builds genuine metacognitive capacity.
Drawing on the Thinking Connections Framework and the Thinking Assessment Tool & Profile, I help early career teachers surface and examine their own thinking — their assumptions about students, learning, and their own identity as a teacher — so they can make more deliberate, more effective professional decisions from the very beginning of their career.

Professional Learning
The most powerful thing a teacher can do is think carefully about their thinking. When teachers develop metacognitive awareness — understanding why they make the instructional choices they do, and what effect those choices have — their practice transforms.
My professional learning programs are built on an empirically designed theory of metacognitive thinking and structured around the realities of classroom life. I don't deliver content at teachers. I create experiences that provoke genuine reflection, productive challenge, and collaborative inquiry.

Schools rarely struggle because of a lack of effort. They struggle because of how they think about their challenges — the assumptions they hold, the patterns they repeat, and the questions they haven't yet asked.

Leadership Consultation and Coaching
